1. Start Drill Pull up the handles of clutch and reducer, the mud pump begins to supply water. Then pull down the hydraulic right handle and adjust the pressure regulating valve to start drilling. When the gyrator vertical shaft goes to the lowest place, pull down the clutch handle to cut off the power. Lift the vertical shaft to the top, and push down the gripping ring. Push up the clutch handle, and pull down the right handle to the position of the downward, the drill machine restarts to drill. Continue the previous operation step by step until the Kelly reaches the max. depth, then add another drilling pipe.
2. Step-and-repeat Operation Details When the vertical shaft falls to the lowest place, pull down the clutch handle to cut off the power. Uplift the gripping ring and push up the right hydraulic handle. Then push the left hydraulic handle to lift the vertical shaft rapidly. When it goes to a suitable place, push down the gripping ring, push up the clutch handle, and push down the right handle to the downward level, then the drill machine restarts soon. When the gyrator goes to the lowest place, the drilling depth will add more as the previous way. Notice when Drilling During the whole drilling work, clean the sediment surrounded by wellhead timely to ensure the water flows smoothly. Check the pumped-out sediment to learn the different formation. When the Kelly finishes drilling, replace the former drilling rod with the core barrel, or add the grit compartment together.
3. How to Change the Drilling Rods When the Kelly falls to the last scale, pull down the clutch handle to cut off the power. Then push the right hydraulic handle to lifting position. Press the left hydraulic handle and pull the right hydraulic to the pause position, the vertical shaft will stop lifting. Place the wellhead board well. Then turn the right handle of gearbox to winch position and push up the clutch handle. Uplift the gripping ring and turn the right handle of winch, the Kelly will be pulled up the vertical shaft hole. When the adapter coupling on the bottom of Kelly reaches the wellhead board, pull down the gripping ring. Use padding fork to lock the adapter coupling onto the wellhead board. Pull down the handle of reducer, mud pump will stop the water supply. Use the big board fork to unscrew the adapter coupling. Take off the hoisting swivel elevator to ground. Pull the right hydraulic handle to lifting position, the vertical lifts slowly. And the Kelly will separate from the adapter joint. Special Note: If your drill rig is a mobile one, back the drill body to expose the drilling hole.) Unscrew and open the vertical shaft box by wrench. Then you can add drilling tools or drilling rods.
